Jennifer has degrees in Human Development, Social Work and Jewish Communal Service and started off in the Tot & Company program as a parent with each of her 4 children. Jennifer brings her talents and love of music, Judaism, and children to the JCC along with her experience as a Teacher /Program Coordinator at Nierman Preschool and Children's Programming Coordinator at Ohr Shalom Synagogue. You and your little one will love Jennifer's sweet and caring approach and will have a great start on your journey in Jewish education.

Summer Programs
Join our JCC family by participating with your little ones in our summer programs for our youngest preschoolers! Wee Play classes are held on Thursdays for babies, 9-16 months, at 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, TOT & COMPANY on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays for toddlers, 17-23 months, from 9:00 am -11:00 am, and Wednesdays and Fridays for prechoolers, 24 - 32 months, from 9:00 - noon.

WEE Play
Wednesdays from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
WEE Play, a special program for babies 9 - 16 months old with their parent or significant adult, offers a support group of new friends for everyone while enjoying a session of music and movement, art, and a celebration of Shabbat under the nurturing and creative direction of Jennifer Meltzer! This class will meet on Wednesdays for the upcoming school year.

TOT & COMPANY
Wednesdays and/or Fridays from 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Share a special time while you and your little one, ages 18-23 months, participate in music, art, rhythm and movement, and Shabbat and holiday celebrations with Jennifer Meltzer, an early childhood specialist. Families are introduced to our PE Specialist with a gym session included as part of the program! Families enrolled in WEE Play or TOT & COMPANY are guaranteed spaces during early registration for the upcoming school year.

Parent Participation
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Ready for your child to go to preschool but not ready for them to go independently? Our parent participation class with Judi Sofer, master teacher of 2 year olds has a full preschool morning including gym and music time with specialists. This is a transition class, and parents are welcome to leave whenever you and your child are ready! By the year's end, your children will be confident to attend their 3 year old programs independently!

Sunday August 1
Please arrive no later than 12:45 pm (Game starts at 1:05 pm). Petco Park - 100 Park Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92101 (Enter through the gate at 10th and K) Supporting Jewish Single Parents and Jewish BIGPals invites you and your family to a fun-filled afternoon at the San Diego Padres Game! Many SJSP families have a BIGPal for their son or daughter and this will be a great way for everyone to cheer on our hometown baseball team while on a beautiful San Diego summer afternoon. SJSP and BIGPals will be sitting together in the “Beach” Bleacher seats in center field which is in front of the Park at the Park (the grassy hillside located just beyond center field). Please bring a picnic lunch, and sunscreen. Food and sealed water bottles (20 oz or less) are allowed inside Petco Park. Added bonus: It is a kids giveaway at the park! All kids 14 and younger will receive a free Padres backpack and will be able to run the bases after the game!

The Jewish Family Service Food Pantry offers food bags to those in need due to the homelessness, financial difficulties, transitional issues and/or other crisis issues. Food bags are available to any person regardless of race, age or religion. The Food Pantry contributes to the well-being of the general community as well as helping those in the Jewish community in times of need.

Simcha Shabbat Services
First Friday of each month at 6:15 pm
Our monthly "Family Service," the first Friday of each month, is now "Simcha Shabbat." The evening will begin with snacks and shmoozing from 6:00 p.m. until the Kabbalat Shabbat “Service in the Round” at 6:30 p.m. Preschoolers will add their delightful voices to the service singing their favorite Shabbat songs and a variety of talented guests will join us each month. The service concludes at 7:15 p.m. with a themed Oneg Shabbat. The service and all activities will take place in the Cohen Social Hall. We will wish Happy Birthday to children celebrating a birthday that month. This is also an opportunity to share other joyous events. Bring a dairy Shabbat picnic dinner, some for you and some to share, and enjoy dining under the evening sky. We'll provide kiddush wine and grape juice, challah, and dessert.
