Classes are quickly filling up for our 2, 3 and 5 day options for children aged 18 months to 5 years old.  If you are interested in joining us, please contact the Preschool at 858-362-1354 to register or to make an appointment.  Applications are available at the preschool and online.

NEW IN 2012-2013 - SPANISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE IMMERSION CLASSES!

Building on our successful Spanish as a second language program, we are launching two new preschool classes taught exclusively in Spanish - one for 4+ year olds and one for 3 year olds.  Each is a five day-a-week program.  Spaces are filling up quickly, so if you are interested, don’t wait!

Parent Participation
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 12:00pm

This class is designed for parents to help their two year olds transition to preschool.  Judi Sofer, mentor teacher, offers 3 hours of sensory enriched activities.  Parents participate alongside their children, encouraging involvement in art, circle and music times, and outside play, with special time with our P.E. Teacher, Ofir Gonen, and our Music Specialist, Myrna Cohen.  As the year progresses, and as your children are ready, parents leave the children for independent participation.

Tot N Company
Wednesdays and/or Fridays from 9:00am - 11:00am

Our wonderful weekly program, taught by the incredible Jennifer Meltzer, is designed for children ages 17 – 23 months.  You and your child will experience a morning full of messy art, music and movement, gym with our P.E. Specialist, free play, socialization, and a special Shabbat circle.  Try the class once and join for the remainder of the year!

PLEASE NOTE:  The Wednesday class is currently filled to capacity.  Space still remains in our Friday morning class for the remainder of the year.

WEE Play
Wednesdays from 11:30am - 1:00pm

This special time for you and your little one (9 – 16 months) is facilitated by Jennifer Meltzer who will lead you through this first preschool experience.  Stimulating multi-sensory play, music and movement, outdoor play and Shabbat are part of each joyous session.

Introducing 2 New SDJA Early Childhood Programs: Elanot Program

We are thrilled to continue expanding our preschool programming by offering "Elanot" next year. Elanot, which means "trees" in Hebrew, is a transition program specifically designed for children to create a gentle transition from preschool to kindergarten. The program challenges each child as an individual academically, socially and emotionally, thus allowing children to discover and grow their own strengths in a caring and nurturing Jewish environment. Priority is given to children who are kindergarten eligible based on the public school cutoff date. Don't forget to tell your friends about this new, exciting program!

If you know of any families interested in joining our class, please contact the SDJA preschool director, Kira Rivkin at (858) 704-3815 or krivkin@sdja.com

Introducing 2 New SDJA Early Childhood Programs: Mommy and Me Discovery Class

This class welcomes a community of families to share traditions through music, movement, instrument play, story time and art in a safe, warm, Jewish environment.

Our discovery class is taught by our art specialist, Miss Robin, on Tuesdays and a music specialist, Miss Diana, on Thursdays. Each class features a special story with our preschool director, Miss Kira, and includes a family style snack. It is a wonderful opportunity to bond with your child and meet other children and families in the community! The class is open to children ages 6 months to 2 years old.
