Job Description for volunteers. We cannot guarantee that we can give you the job
you want. When the choice is not "clickable", it means that all positions have been
filled. Only members of the Book Selection Committee handle book sales.
A= Any type of position
G= greeter: stands at the entrance and greets people. Will have an information
sheet. If people are leaving and their books are not in a bag, we ask if the cashier
forgot to give them a bag. (Sometimes people forget to pay.) Security is important;
so report anything out of the ordinary to security, staff, or captains. You do not
do anything beyond this. Evening shift people should stay after the lecture for
half an hour. If you can’t, let the volunteer captain know.
U= Greeter for Underwriters in Theater . Greets underwriters and shows them
seating in the section reserved for them.
F= Food Volunteer: Distributes the glatt kosher meal boxes on the tables
before the audience arrives. Helps people who cannot serve selves to coffee during
the meal, disposes of boxes after the meal.
L= Greeter for Library: Greets people at door of library. Takes care of autograph
line later.
S= Book Signing Line: Distributes paper for dedication names. Informs people
that books must be purchased before signing. Book signing is in Atrium.
T= Ticket Taker
